Kern Oil Is Going to Hollywood!

Kern Oil has officially been selected for the 2026 Indiewood Film Festival and will be screening at the legendary TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood!

The Indiewood Film Festival runs September 10–18, bringing independent films and filmmakers to one of the most iconic movie theatres in the world.

For a documentary made right here in Kern County, getting the opportunity to put Kern Oil on the big screen in Hollywood is pretty damn cool.

A Local Story on a World Stage

Kern Oil tells the story of Kern County's oil industry, its history, its communities, and most importantly, the people who have spent generations working in it.

This film started as a local independent documentary. Now that story is heading to Hollywood.
